About

The Rusty Cup is a biennial golf tournament in which some of the greatest British golfers take on the cream of Irish talent in 3 days of gruelling competition.

Each day involves a different format of play: day one is fourballs, day two is greensomes, and day three is singles.

One point is awarded for a victory, and half a point to each team for a draw. At the end of the tournament whichever team has the most points takes home the trophy.

In the event that the final scores are tied, each captain shall select one player from their team to participate in a Michael Game play-off.

Standard international rules apply. Players take it in turns to name a famous Michael. If a player takes more than three seconds to name a famous Michael his team loses. If a player names a Michael that is not famous (the bad kind of Michael!) his team loses.
