And it’s over. In the end the Irish team was declared victorious in a close fought tournament, ultimately winning by just one point.
Thanks go to everyone who took part and made it a fantastic weekend. Also to Galgorm for letting us loose on a truly breathtaking golf course.
But most of all we must thank the Irish weather. I don’t know how, but despite severe weather warnings on the Saturday and Sunday we escaped with a couple of short showers breaking up an otherwise idyllically sunny three days. It was just amazing.
The results of the cup can be seen here.
So, until 2011 when the tournament moves to bonny Scotland, adieu!

With less than a month to go we finally have confirmed team lists. 16 players in total with two Irish players, Neil Harrison and Andrew James, transferring to the GB side to even up the numbers.
These traitors will have a hard tournament. There are already rumbles in the GB team that these outsiders are not to be trusted, and supporters of the Irish team have launched a massive Internet campaign demanding that never again should this pair be allowed back into Ireland.
They won’t care though, because they know that by shifting to the bookies favourites, team GB, they shall have a much greater chance of personal glory!

Many more videos and photos from the first Rusty Cup have been added. They can be found on the 2007 site in the archive.
There is some truly fantastic/embarrassing stuff in there which I know will bring back memories.
Also we’re ready to announce near complete provisional teams for next year. Please have a look at the team sheets and let us know if there are any problems.

The Extremely Amataur Golf Association (EAGA) is pleased to announce that a venue has been selected for the 2009 Rusty Cup.
Following an exhaustive bidding process, the 473 man selection committee voted unanimously that Galgorm Castle, Ballymena be chosen as host. Both in terms of state-of-the-art facilities and stunningly beautiful views, Galgorm has everything looked for in a Rusty Cup venue.
It is the first time the tournament will have taken place outside mainland Britain, and in Northern Ireland there is already a real sense of anticipation in the air. Which is understandable - after all, it’s not often that an armpit of a country like Northern Ireland gets to host such a prestigious event.
To find out more about Galgorm Castle, please see the course website.
